The Royal House of Dayton was established in the year 2023 when Dr. Spencer M Dayton, known under the regal name of His Serence Highness, Togbe Spencer Akoto II, was granted dynastic status by His Royal Majesty, Torgbui Gorni Treve IV-Dufia of Dzogadze and Brimshibrim of Greater Dzogadze. He was named Togbe Spencer Akoto II. Togbe meaning King, and Akoto after the First Chief of the Stool. The Kingdom of Dzogadze is a traditional Stooldom located in the Southeast Region of Ghana. The 1992 Constitution of Ghana (chapter 270–277), like previous Constitutions, guarantees the institution of chieftaincy together with its traditional councils as established by customary law and usage. Chieftains (Monarchs) are also regulated by the Chieftaincy Act of 2008. 

 

With the status of dynasty, Togbe Spencer Akoto II was also awarded the status of Sovereign of the House and Chief of Name. Thus, the Royal House was Born.

HSH was also granted further Royal Title as His Royal Highness Obapongba of Dayton (Prince of Dayton) in the Kingdom of Abura Papagya by His Royal Majesty Nana Kojo Kurentsir X, Papagyahen of Abura Papagya- who also serves as the Paramount King of the Nzema-Agonahen Traditional Area in the Nzema lands under the name Danseiferi Anobri Otoko Kurentsir I.

HSH was also granted the Royal Title as His Royal Highness Prince of Lydda from the Royal House of Lusignan. The House of Lusignan is a royal house of French origin, which at various times ruled several principalities in Europe and the Levant, including the kingdoms of Jerusalem, Cyprus, and Armenia, from the 12th through the 15th centuries during the Middle Ages. It also had great influence in England and France.

Thus, the official title for the Head of the House is now His Serene & Royal Highness.

Members of the Royal House exist by Dynastic Right- being related to the Head of the House, or are brought in by several measures, including those of Blood-Brothers and Sisters.

Before Becoming a Royal House, we were a Ducal Court as the Highest Title earned by the family and held by His Serene Highness.

The Dayton Family roots spread far and wide in the World. The direct ancestors which gave the original titles to His Serene Highness, include Robert the Bruce (King of Scotland), James VI & I (First King of both Scotland and England) Jonathan Dayton (3rd Speaker of the US House of Representatives), the Current Royal Family of Great Britain, and many others.

The family also has Hispanic Roots on the maternal side of His Serene Highness. The Hispanic Side is related to Pancho Villa (Mexican Revolutionary), and Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon (Co-Monarchs of Spain).
